Originating from the wet tropics of Ecuador and Colombia, this shade-tolerant tree produces impressive round fruits weighing up to 1kg. The smooth, melting flesh offers a unique flavour profile—sweet with tangy, aromatic notes and subtle vanilla undertones reminiscent of plum. Fruits take up to a year to ripen, turning brown before naturally falling from the tree. While tolerant of full sun, these trees thrive in partial shade, making them ideal for food forest designs. They require high rainfall, warm temperatures, and consistently moist soil—the roots cannot tolerate drying out. Note: Trees are either male or female, which becomes apparent at flowering.

And we ship to QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and ACT every Monday and Tuesday.
