The Sofia Cherimoya is a prolific fruiting selection with white flesh that is sweet and rich with a smooth, custardy vanilla flavour.

The original Sofia seed came from Quito, Ecuador.

Sofia has performed very well in Adelaide SA as well as around Australia.

The Cherimoya (Annona cherimola) is close relative to the sugar apple, rollinia, sweetsop and soursop fruits which all belong to the family Annonace. Cherimoya are heavy croppers of large fruit, low seed count and a juicy flesh and are much more cold tolerant then Custard apples (Annona Atemoya).
