Elephant Apple - 90mm

Elephant Apple is a striking medium-sized tropical tree reaching up to 15m, prized for its distinctive corrugated foliage and highly ornamental fragrant flowers. The knobbly fruits ripen to yellow and offer culinary versatility—use them in curries, jellies, jams, or eat the outer petals and gelatinous pulp raw with sugar. Rich in medicinal properties, this tree thrives in tropical climates and is marginal in the subtropics, making it an excellent canopy addition to food forests. Harvest only when fully ripe, as fruits won't ripen further after picking. Native to Tropical Asia and beloved by elephants, it provides both abundant shade and ornamental beauty in warm gardens.
