Mangifera Odorata

Mangifera odorata also known as Kwini is native to tropical Asia, specifically to West Malaysia. The fruit has a green to yellow skin in colour with the flesh of the fruit having an orange to dark yellow colour. The fruit is sour or sweet when eaten depending on ripeness. The flowers and fruit have a pleasant fragrance. This fruit has never been found in the wild. Botanists are of the opinion that kwini has originated as a hybrid between Mangifera indica and Mangifera foetida.
