The white sapote, native to the Mexico and Central America is a sweet tasting fruit with mixed flavours of vanilla , banana and peaches. The yellow to green skinned fruit has white flesh and is used primarily as a dessert fruit great to eat as is chilled from the fridge. The Smathers culitvar was introduced to the US in 1907, Smathers is a wooly leafed cultivar that produces Large, very sweet, Creamy fruit. Smathers is consdered dwarf and is suitable to grow in a large pot. Semi Self pollinating will benefit from another CV to pollinate.
